Care focus are a group of therapeutic children’s homes for children who have emotional and behavioural difficulties as a result of complex trauma and adverse childhood experiences. We take a therapeutic and holistic approach to the care and parenting we deliver and ensure our team are fully trained to the highest standard. All of our homes are set within beautiful, rural locations in the Ipswich and Colchester countryside to offer a peaceful and tranquil environment where nurture and healing can happen.

What sets us apart is that we work 1:1 with the young people, this means that every shift is highly staffed and that your working environment is well supported.

We have four words that guide us in everything we do:

Positive – Respect – Fun – Kind

About the role

We act as good parents to our children and focus on positive outcomes, providing an environment where children can thrive. We are big believers in fun and instil this in all that we do. We provide education for the children within our home, delivered by our excellent team of qualified teachers, and we offer support in the classroom too. We take part in activities and new experiences for the children, from trips to the seaside and visiting the cinema to horse riding and walks in the countryside. We work as a team and do things as a ‘family’. We cook together and share meals together, we take part in the usual day to day running’s of any typical household such as keeping on top of the laundry or a spot of light gardening. This is all part of our therapeutic practise, teaching the young people we care for, key skills and traditional family values to support their growth and wellbeing. It is the responsibility of all to safeguarding and promote the welfare of children and young people and to ensure that they are protected from harm.

About you

We are looking for strong, well rounded individuals with good common sense. You do not need to have been a parent yourself. It is your personal qualities that matter, which is why we do not require previous experience. Our children need people who are good role-models, to allow them to grow and become good parents themselves. You must be 21 or over and have a full driving licence.

When you join us, you will become part of a diverse, team spirited, enthusiastic community who will be pleased to have you aboard. We encourage you to become a part of the change. To share our vision in creating an environment where children can thrive and where futures are hopeful. You will be committed to going above and beyond to create a space for children to express themselves, feel safe in their surroundings and be confident in who they are.
