We are an expanding group of small therapeutic Children’s homes (never more than four children in each home). Our homes are pleasantly rural, near Ipswich and Colchester, and are all in delightful detached and spacious properties. Our qualified teachers deliver in-house education. We have four words that guide us in all we do.
Positive – Respect – Fun – Kind
About the role
We don’t just look after children. We parent them. We do what good parents do. It is a team game we play, and the minimum team on each shift consists of a team leader (experienced), a senior (fairly experienced) and a youth support worker (who is learning). As good parents we ensure a good education, plenty of activities such as cinema and gym trips, horse-riding and clubs, trips to the beach and cycling trips. We also set and maintain appropriate boundaries of behaviour.
We are looking for strong, well rounded individuals with good common sense. You do not need to have been a parent yourself. It is your personal qualities that matter, which is why we do not require previous experience. Our children need people who are good role-models, to allow them to grow and become good parents themselves. You must be 21 or over and have a full driving licence.
Why work for us
You will be joining an enthusiastic and diverse group of people who are dedicated to widening the interests and skills of the young people in our care. We want them to be happy and useful adults – as good parents do. We are very training focused. All staff, having completed their statutory six months initial probation period, are entered for the Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce. This is an important and nationally recognised qualification based upon “on the job” training. As a growing company there are always ongoing opportunities for advancement, as it is our policy to promote from within.
Care Focus Ltd is committed to the safety and welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and references.
